The Wedding Planning List: 2-3 Days Before the Big Day
The day is drawing near and there is so much to handle. By breaking the steps down into smaller pieces it will make the day less stressful and easier to handle. Here are the steps for 2-3 days before the wedding day.
Bride: If you haven’t already, have your gown pressed or steamed.
You will feel the most beautiful in a flawless gown on the big day!
Groom: Go to final fitting and pick up your formalwear.
It is important for the groom to look and feel great too. He should go have a final fitting to make sure everything looks the way it should and pick up his formalwear.
Groom: Ask the best man to make sure all groomsmen attend fittings and pick up their outfits.
This what having a best man is for! Let him handle the details and get the groomsmen taken care of. (A follow up call to make sure everything happened may still be a good idea though.)
Determine wedding party positions.
These positions include during the ceremony and the order of the party in the processional and recessional.
Hand off decor items.
This includes place cards, table cards, menus, disposable cameras, favors and any other items for setting the table. Hand these over to whomever is responsible for setting the décor.
Reconfirm final details with all vendors.
Discuss any last minute substitutions. Provide all wedding professionals with emergency phone numbers to call the day of the wedding. Taking care of these small things ahead of time will reduce stress if anything does go wrong on the wedding day.
Call the limousine or car rental company.
Make sure to note times for pick up and locations.
Arrange for guests without cars to be picked up from the airport/train station.
Often times friends, attendants, and relatives are more than willing to help.
Deliver welcome baskets to hotel concierge.
To make sure this is completed how you would like, include names and delivery instructions.
Book a spa treatment.
Make an appointment for a manicure and pedicure the day before the wedding. It is a great way to relax and you will be able to see the small pieces coming together!
Pack for your honeymoon.
Don’t forget to do this before the wedding! There is so much going on already, but packing before the wedding will give you the opportunity to rush off after the wedding and head right to the honeymoon without any pit stops.
Send a timeline to bridal party.
Include every member’s contact information, along with the point people you’ve ask to deal with the vendors if problems arise. This ensures everyone is on the same page and knows their specific responsibilities.
