Daniel Schetter, CHA

General Manager

Dan directs a team of creative sales and operations professionals who strive to exceed guest’s expectations with the goal of earning customer loyalty. Dan’s professional career has been a commitment to the hospitality industry. He is an experienced hospitality and customer service professional who, as General Manager, presided over the operations of the CopperLeaf Boutique Hotel & Spa in Appleton, the Holiday Inn Riverwalk in Neenah, and the Pioneer Resort & Marina in Oshkosh. Dan enjoys the satisfaction of having management and team members execute their customer service responsibilities resulting in customers who have a memorable experience with the desire to return.

David Helgeson, CMP

Director of Sales

David directs the sales team with the goal of bringing meetings, conventions, and other groups to the hotel and convention center. The sales and catering team is focused on meeting the guest’s every need and fulfilling the client’s mission of a flawless event. David brings many years of experience servicing guests from both a “front” and “back-of-the house” perspective. He works closely with all hotel departments to ensure the client’s expectations are met and exceeded. David and everyone at the Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel knows that it is much easier to keep guests coming back than it is to find new ones.

Jason Crooks

Director of Food & Beverage

Jason oversees the food and beverage operations including the on-premise banquet services, off-premise catering division, Premier Waterfront Catering, as well as the Ground Round at River’s Edge. He brings a passion for first-class food and beverage service which is evident in our daily operations.

Christy Marquardt

Catering Sales & Services Manager

While attending UW Oshkosh, Christy began her hospitality career at the once revered Pioneer Resort & Marina, Oshkosh. At the Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel, Christy focuses her efforts on managing catering sales and services for the hotel and the Oshkosh Convention Center. Christy also handles the bookings of off-premise catering through the hotel’s off-premise division, Premier Waterfront Catering. She works with guests to determine the needs of each event and cultivates those events from the planning stages to completion. Christy’s many years of experience in the fast-paced hospitality environment have given her the ability to think on her feet, anticipate guests’ needs and provide the best in customer service.

Matt Winters

Executive Chef

Chef Matt, a native of the Salt Lake City area, and brings a wealth of culinary and hospitality knowledge. Over his extensive 30+ year culinary career, he has gained “specialized” knowledge of World, European and Regional American Cuisine as well as pastries and confections.
He received his Associates Degree in Hospitality Management from Utah Valley University as well as continuing education credits from The Culinary Institute of America. Chef Matt has experience in full-service, high-end hotels and resorts containing multiple restaurants with convention centers attached. He also has extensive off-premise catering experience.

Chef Matt is an ACF Certified Executive Chef, president of the American Culinary Federation – Fox Valley Chapter, as well as the 2012 Chef of the Year. He is the 4-time and current Chef Showdown Champion of the N.E. Wisconsin “Taste of the Town” event to benefit the Big Brother/Big Sisters of N.E. Wisconsin.

Chef Matt and his culinary team are responsible for all food service of the Oshkosh Convention Center, the hotel ballroom, and Premier Waterfront Catering, the hotel’s off-premise catering division.
