Meet our Wedding Coordinator, Miranda!

img_1103-e1459701070183It’s #WeddingWednesday here at Waterfront and what would a wedding be without a wedding planner?! We have one of the best in the business in our very own Miranda Gorges. In this week’s edition of Wedding Wednesday, Heather Conroy, of our marketing partner Stellar Blue Technologies, sits down with Miranda for a little Q&A. We know all about Miranda and think that you should too!

HC: Good afternoon, Miranda! To start things off today, tell us about yourself…
MG: I grew up just outside of Appleton with my parents and younger brother. I graduated from Hortonville High School. Now, I live in Oshkosh with my dog named Louie.  I love coffee, the Packers, and anything with sparkles.

HC: How long have you been working at Waterfront?
MG: I have had the pleasure of working at Waterfront for a year.

HC: How long have you been a wedding planner?
MG: I decided I wanted to be a wedding planner when I was attending Fox Valley Tech, earning a degree in marketing.  I did my second internship with a wedding planning company in Appleton where I got hired when I graduated in 2008.  Since then I’ve worked in and around the wedding and event planning industry, doing everything from events at the Fox Valley Humane Association to managing the bridal registry program at Bed Bath & Beyond.

HC: What do you like most about being a wedding planner?
MG: Getting to be a part of the best day ever.

HC: What is the best advice you could give to a bride?
MG: Enjoy your day.  Don’t miss it worrying about if everything looks perfect or even if it’s raining outside… Just enjoy it.  It goes by way too fast and you don’t get a do-over.

HC: What is the perfect wedding?
MG: Honestly, every wedding is a little bit perfect.  I still get excited at every single one.

HC: What is the craziest thing you have ever had to deal with at your job?
MG: That’s top secret. My job is to make sure the couple’s day is the best.  If anything crazy happens, like your cupcake stand tipping over before the reception starts, it’s my job to fix it and make sure no one ever knows.

HC: Why should people choose Waterfront as a venue?
MG: There are so many wonderful reasons to choose Waterfront.  I’d recommend people contact me for a tour and I’ll show them!
